Making a Claim
CULE utilizes one of the leading adjusting firms in Canada (McLarens).We are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If a circumstance occurs that involves a claim or a potential claim, take the following initial steps to safeguard your client’s coverage.
Step 1: If you are an insurance broker call CULE Insurance
Do this immediately if the loss or damage is an emergency. You can contact your Broker or CULE on the next business day if the loss or damage is not an emergency.
- During business hours – Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm (not including holidays), call 416-384-1616 or 1-877-384-1616.
- After hours, on weekends or holidays, if it is an emergency, please call McLarens Canada at 1-866-410-1226 and identify yourself as a CULE customer.
Step 2: Let your Broker take care of your compensation requests
Your Broker will arrange for any potential claims to be dealt with. Your client and their staff should not admit liability or make any payments to, or discuss compensation with, any potential claimants.
Step 3: Document the incident
These measures will help expedite the claims process:
- Record the personal information (name, address and phone number) of any potential claimant or witness.
- Prepare a detailed incident report and get written statements from anyone involved and any witnesses.
- Keep all details of any alcoholic beverages purchased or consumed by anyone involved, including all receipts and credit card vouchers.
- Take photos of the area and anyone involved.
- Maintain any data from security cameras, and provide it to CULE or to the claims adjuster.
- Document, and keep all receipts for, all the expenses you incur in dealing with the incident.
